Pastor Steve Hannett was born and raised in
Rutherford, NJ where he attended Rutherford High
School. At 19 years old, while attending college in
PA, Pastor Steve was diagnosed with cancer which
left him asking God, “why”. He prayed a simple
prayer, “Teach me” and his life has never been the
same since. In May 1994, God answered that prayer
and healed him of cancer when he had a life-changing
encounter with Jesus Christ. After receiving God’s
covenanted healing, Pastor Steve went on to preach
the gospel and share the love of Jesus Christ with
friends, family members, associates, co-workers and
acquaintances. In addition, Pastor Steve became a
regular servant at a homleless ministry in Newark,
NJ where he would preach and teach the Bible. It was
during this time in his life, that several pastors
recognized the strong calling and anointing on his
life and ordained him as a minister.
Pastor Steve also felt God’s leading to start a
bible study so that he could minister the Word on a
regular basis. This bible study grew and eventually
Pastor Steve felt God calling him to plant a church.
As a result, Pastor Steve left his very successful
business career and founded Abundant Grace Christian
Church in October 2003 with his wife, Kate. He
currently serves as Senior Pastor of Abundant Grace
Christian Church, located at 70 Home Avenue in
Rutherford, NJ.
Pastor Steve is co-author of a book entitled “Power
In No Other Name” which encourages the reader to
live a victorious life by the power given to us
through the wonderful name of Jesus. He and his wife
Kate currently live in Rutherford, NJ with their
son, Matthias and daughter Felice.
Kate Hannett was born and raised in Irvington, NJ
and met Pastor Steve while attending college in PA.
After witnessing first-hand the change she saw in
her husband’s life and his miraculous healing, Kate
accepted Jesus into her heart in September 1999.
After college, Kate worked for several years in the
marketing and advertising field and also taught
part-time at Seton Hall University. Besides being a
full-time mother, Kate is an integral part of the
church, leading the women’s ministry, children’s
church and many other programs. |
